Researchers from Instruct member countries are invited to submit their project proposals for consideration for the 6th Research & Development Pilot Project Awards. The submission deadline will be on 31 August 2020.
Instruct-ERIC finances a small number of pilot projects in integrative structural biology periodically. Recipients of the Instruct R&D Award receive up to €15,000 for a basic or applied research project lasting approximately one year. The expectation is that the preliminary data from pilot project will form the basis for recipients to apply for more substantial funding through conventional routes.
To apply for an R&D award, submit a short project proposal via the Instruct-ERIC website. The study should be of limited scope and have well defined objectives; ordinarily, a pilot study should be completed within one year. Proposals should also align with Instruct’s aim to promote innovation in integrative structural biology, and must include the use of at least two services from the Instruct technology catalogue. Of course the dutch facilities of the Instruct-NL members NeCEN, Bijvoet centre and NKI are included in this catalogue. Projects that include technology and/or software development are encouraged.
All proposals will be subject to peer review, and funding decisions will be taken by the Instruct-ERIC Executive Committee. Please note that all proposals should have the approval of a Principal Researcher at the applicant’s Institution or Department. Only applications submitted online before the deadline of 31 August 2020 will be considered.
